The Perrins Family would
like to welcome you to the New "Rainy Pass
Lodge". Bud Branham established Rainy
Pass Lodge in 1937. The lodge is
located approximately 125 air miles
northwest of Anchorage in the Alaska Range.
It was owned and operated by the Branham
families until June 1977. From 1977
until February of 2003 the Lodge was owned
and operated by Vern Humble and Family as
Alaska Professional Guides and Rainy Pass
Lodge, Inc. On February 13, 2003 Steve
and Denise Perrins purchased the Rainy Pass
Lodge property and formed "The Perrins'
Rainy Pass Lodge, L.L.C.".
Steve came to Alaska in
the fall of 1976 to seek his dream of
hunting and guiding in Alaska. He was
followed shortly after by his fiancé Denise
and they were married in the Spring of 1977.
Steve trained and worked as a guide and
Denise worked in the kitchen as a cook for
Mike and Bud Branham, whom at the time owned
Rainy Pass Lodge. They have worked in
the Rainy Pass area off and on over the past
25 years. With the help of their five
boys (Steve II, Shane, Clayton, Chase, and
Colton). The Lodge
will be operated as a premiere hunting
operation and will be expanded to include
Summer and Winter recreational activities.
Buckey Winkley
(registered guide #34) has been guiding at
Rainy Pass Lodge since 1964. Buckey will
start a new season this year with
the Perrins Family to continue the Legacy of
Alaska's Oldest Hunting Lodge.
We invite you to join us
at one of the most picturesque and historic
lodges in Alaska. Hunting
opportunities include: Dall Sheep, Caribou,
Moose, Grizzly and Black Bear. Perhaps
you'd like to bring the family on a summer
horseback trip to explore the wildlife,
peaceful fishing
and great scenery.
Maybe you're the adventurous winter wonderer
that would like to snow machine hunt for
Ptarmigan or just ride the endless miles of
winter wonderland. View the Last Great
Race, the Iditarod as it passes through the
Rainy Pass checkpoint. You can look
forward to a great home cooked meal and end
your day with relaxation in front of the
fire with a good book. Whatever your
pleasure might be we're here to serve you.
